Location
An access road close to the NJ Turnpike, in Port Reading, Woodbridge Township, Middlesex County.
Participants
- Jevanyn, Gwynnath, and Evan
Plans
Between a Free-4-All in the morning, and a birthday party in Howell (Ocean County) the afternoon, we were pretty booked up. A stop in Port Reading was not too far out of the way when traveling between Somerville and Howell, so I penciled in an expedition.
Expedition
I had originally considered a stop in Port Reading on the way to Howell, but the party was noon-to-4, and we left Somerville at about 1PM, so time was of the essence.
We left Howell at about 5PM, and drove up to Port Reading. I lived there for several years, but never had occasion to use this road. Its purpose is to allow someone on Blair Rd. (not Blair Dr.) to turn east onto Port Reading Ave.
I pulled to the side of the access road and put on the hazard lights, not that they would help on the blind curve. I took pictures of the location, a few red-winged blackbirds that must have nested nearby, and a view of the Turnpike.
Tracklog
No tracklog, but I did reconstruct the ridiculous route we drove to get home. Behold the fail!
Um, yeah, and don't forget the carsick wife, either.
