Expedition
After school I took bus 844 from the train station to start my geohashing adventures of the day. After half an hour ride I jumped off and was now in a new graticule.
Where the bus stops there was a much smaller road that I had to walk on, it was kinda icy so it wasn't possible to walk too fast. Just about a normal walking speed. It was a very windy day and together with the below freezing temperature (below freezing temperature for normal water in the pressure one atmosphere) made it feel very cold.
After a few kilometers I turned left onto an even smaller road. I actually was lucky here, as this road was cleared of snow. Which I later saw the road was snow-free as long as I were supposed to use it, when I had to head out in the field the road was full of snow further away. So I had to head out in a field and there was still about 700 meters to go.
At this point I were a bit unsure: 700 meters in half a meter deep snow, was that really a good idea? Of course it wasn't so therefore I walked away onto to the field. The field was separated into areas by fences but to let scooters through the fences was opened to make temporary gates.
In the first area, which was really big, I went in a scooter track that was so compact that I could walk on top of the snow. It was even easier than walking on the icy road. In the next area the scooter tracks wasn't as compact. After taking a step you feel the crust but then go through a decimeter. I can tell you that when that happens it's really tiresome. But I only went through so little so I guess it was all right.
Next area everything was good again, I could walk on a compact track. The hashpoint was somewhere in the fourth area. I took a step and all of a sudden I had snow just below my knee. I had to make the 150 meters through the deep half crusty snow in very strong wind (due to the open field), but there wasn't any point in giving up.
A few minutes later I was there, happy and tired. Took some pictures and went back.
