Location

Fairly close to a road north of Katrineholm, which I had gone through on a previous hash this month. On a tiny field behind an old barn.

Participants

Carl-Johan

Plans

To deflower 2 virgin graticules and maybe work on my minesweeper around Västerås, Sweden making this a triple hash. This was the route I took.

Expedition

As usual here in winter it got pitch black before I had done all hashes. But I popped onto the E4 and had a pretty uneventful drive north, except for the blizzard of course. It didn't make the road much slippery though since it had been below freezing already for a few days. Took the 55/56 north to Katrineholm and got stuck behind some traffic for a while but got past them eventually.

Found the right roads north fairly easily and even though they had some pressed snow on them it was a pretty easy drive. Sometimes hard to see for all the falling snow but it was ok.

Found the right tiny road and took a left into the woods. Parked the car and started walking and found a big barn and a dark house. Walked around the barn onto a tiny 30x50m field. About 5 cm snow on the ground. The hash was towards the SW end. There was a terrible barking of lots of dogs in the distance, and it was of course pitch black. Found use in my new flashlight from Biltema. All of a sudden I jumped a bit since it looked like reflective eyes was staring at me from the treeline on a small bank. Turns out to be some type of reflectors on a piece of electrical equipment. Don't investigate further.

I find the hash, and use my new fluorescent paint to mark the spot in the snow. It will probably snow over pretty quickly but I've been without something to mark the spot with on too many hashes.

Head back to the car and go to Eskilstuna. The cops have a control spot on the 214 so lots of flashing blue lights but I can't take a picture. More snowing on the way to Stockholm but apart from having to pass the plow trucks it was an easy drive. 670 km driven in total and I got me two virgins!
