The Quaternary (talk) family geohashers
Plans
Work had taken me down to Carbondale, IL, and I was heading back that afternoon to St Louis. I had a quick check on my Geohashing app, and it looked like I was going to be in luck - a short detour was all I needed to get to the day's hash - yippee! And this could be my first hash in a suit! While it looked like from google maps that it was some sort of park or quarry, and if the latter, I was confident that I could talk my way into getting to the hash location - surely.
Expedition
I was pretty excited as I closed in on the spot. Would this be my first geohash in the USA?
Unfortunately, it turned out that this hash was located in an abondoned bitumen mine. The closest entrance was to the South, but this was firmly locked. I drove around the area, and other entrances were all locked too.
Better luck next time.
