You can easily work out how close to the pole it is. All graticules are the same height (i.e. distance north-south); it's just the width (west-east) that differs as you move from one latitude to another. The pole-to-pole (meridional) circumference of the Earth is 40008 km, so with 360 graticules on the way round, each is 111.133 km tall.
