Micsnare instigated this one, as she was keen on getting the Towel achievement and as the 25. was a national holiday, everyone was available. Although at first it seemed Crankl might miss this one as he had on-call duty and it was a busy time for him. But he managed to work it out and so they met at Cafe Drechsler (one of their infamous origins for geohashing). After a hefty meal and some chit-chat about was going on in their work-lifes and the non existant balance of selfsame they checked out a nearby DriveNow car they had booked earlier. Although they managed to open the car by app, it would do anything but start up. Turn signals flashed, car alarm went off, but the engine wouldn't fire up. So they decided it was time to call the carsharing support line. Guess what? Phone support ordered them to 'reboot' the car. You know the world is about to end if you have to file tickets with some carsharing company's IT to reboot your car to get it going. However the car wouldn't cooperate even after tech support intervened and they seeked out another car which parked in the vicinity and which turned to work just fine.

Traffic was light all through the city and the A23 / A5 motorway, which they exited near Seyring and drove another ten minutes to Wolkersdorf. After slowly driving through some 'Kellergassen' (small alleys lined with vine cellars built in hillsides) and leaving some bikers in the dust while further driving towards the hashpoint on an access road, the finally reached their destination. To their surprise it was again located next to some vine crops, same as on the last hashpoint they visited. They took their towels, and Micsnare even donned a fine <strike>yellow</strike> orange morning gown in memory of Arthur Dent's adventures. Good thing they brought that stuff, because as they reached the hashpoint it started to rain and they needed something to dry themselves ;)

Plans

Incited by the successful expedition only a couple days ago (see: 2017-05-21_48_16) the merry band of Viennese hashers decided to celebrate Towel Day and go for another one.

Expedition

However the car wouldn't cooperate even after tech support intervened and they seeked out another car which parked in the vicinity and which turned out to work just fine.

They took their towels, and Micsnare even donned a fine yellow orange morning gown in memory of Arthur Dent's adventures. Good thing they brought that stuff, because as they reached the hashpoint it started to rain and they needed something to dry themselves ;)
