Location

Rural lane in Smolno near Puck.

Google reports the address as 4 Piękna Street. In Polish, piękna means pretty. We'll see if the lane lives up to its name.

Participants

Malgond and his sons while on summer holidays at the sea.

Plans

While on summer holidays at the sea I kept checking the coordinates almost every day. I hoped I could find some easy hash to visit and a new graticule to score. Chances were not high - but it happened!

We were living in a small village of Osłonino on the Bay of Puck, and almost every day we travelled by train from a nearby (3 km) railway station in Żelistrzewo. I got really excited to discover that the hashpoint lies just a little over a kilometer from the station!

On this day we planned to go to Hel by train. My plan was to set out a little earlier and visit the hashpoint before catching our train.

Expedition

Even if I hurried the kids, we set out a little later than planned. Despite a brisk walk we had not reached the station early enough to have time for geohashing this morning - we'd miss our train. I had to replan our expedition to the evening on our way back.

The weather was fair, however menacing rainclouds were moving through the sky, trying to scare us with their showers. But we were not afraid and well prepared. Therefore the activity plan for the day was somewhat tentative.

We've boarded the train and rode towards Hel. During the trip the train has encountered heavy rain and we were a bit worried about our plans, but when we arrived at our destination the sun was shining again. We've rented bikes as planned and cycled back towards the mainland. There's a bike track all along the Hel peninsula, leading throgh forest and bushes along the only road. After some time we've arrived at Jurata and had some drinks, fruit and rest.
