Hi, everybody.
The Copenhagen graticule (55 12) has gone active. So far there's one participant: Me :-)
Today (20th June 2008) I went to this place called Sigerslevvester to look at a maize (corn) field. (Wow) ;-)
I confess right away: I don't own a GPS receiver, so I pinpointed the location using Google Maps living with the inaccuracy. According to Google the location was out in the middle of this maize field and as such inaccessible so I wouldn't be able to get to the exact spot anyway (assuming that the farmer might have a strong opinion about people damaging his crops).
Sigerslevvester is a village with a population of around a hundred, and naturally I was bombarded with questions. Having NOT read the FAQ, I had a great time explaining all about "some internet silliness" based on todays date and the opening index of Dow Jones to their astonished faces, grinning widely and sillily in the process.
The only slightly negative person I met, was the owner of the trees in which I hung the XKCD marker, who was worried that I might damage his trees. When he learned that I had no intention of hurting his trees he mellowed up.
Anyway, it was a nice day, a nice weather and nice people in Sigerslevvester.
That was fun.
