Expedition 4 (Felix, Ruth and Gretel)

I (Felix) had a whole bunch of errands to do today. Get petrol, go to Bunnings to buy some wall conduit for our TV cables, pick up Ruth from her bike ride to the Preston Markets, visit Alex and get a box of bottles of ethanol off him to pot distill into gin, entertain Gretel with some park swinging, go to Robbie's to pick up a bike traler for an upcoming cycle tour. Many things!

And now... geohashing in Preston on the way home!

The weather was exactly as I had predicted. Muggy in the morning, hot and sunny in the mid-afternoon, blustery and threatening to rain for most of the late afternoon, and finally actually raining in the evening (okay, I correctly guessed the hot and muggy part and the threatening to rain part, but the vibe matched). Luckily, none of this affected our errands except a few drops landing on Gretel as she swung on her swing and me getting a bit wet during the only actualy heavy downfall of the day as I loaded Robbie and family's trailer into the back of our tiny Honda Jazz also populated by Gretel and her booster seat and Ruth's bike positioned lengthways across the boot and folded down rear backrest.

All of these things fit perfectly fine and with plenty more room in the boot in case we wanted to grab a small fridge etc. but of course we did not.

We approached the hash with an allotted 5 minutes of hashing time (in order to provide Gretel with a home-administered dinner). This was exactly enough for us to park in the autorepair shop's car park, get us all out, wander around for a bit trying to get a good GPS read within an acceptable purported radius of the hash, take some photos, get back into the car, drive off, get stopped by a level crossing and go home. Which we did! We arrived home with only negative two minutes to spare.
