I rode quickly towards the point to keep warm, crossing the rail line and then taking a cycle path parallel to the road. As I approached the rails again, I saw a northbound regional train go by. Then the crossing gates closed in front of me and I had to wait nearly two minutes until... a tiny rail maintenance vehicle passed through going south.

OpenStreetMap showed a connection out the other side of the gardens, and indicated that this was a designated hiking route, so I continued that way. I found more adventurous riding conditions: a narrow walking path on an embankment, followed by a potholed dirt road.

Only once back at the station did I check for a return train: 10 minutes, plus a 10 minute delay, until a return RE7. So I peeked in the station before it closed at 15:00 to warm up for a minute. This train was much less crowded, with free seats until Königs Wusterhausen.

Expedition

Around lunchtime, I biked to Berlin-Ostkreuz. There I bought something small to eat while waiting for the next train (RE7 towards Senftenberg, with more intermediate stops than RE2). The train turned out to be crowded, so I had to stand for the hour-long ride to Lübbenau.

On the other side of the tracks was the garden colony. The point was, in fact, right on the road, so a quick stop.

Another snack at Ostkreuz. Back home, I adjusted the road location in OpenStreetMap based on my tracklog.
