For other places called Bathurst, go here.

The Bathurst graticule is at latitude 47, longitude -65. It includes much of the Acadian peninsula, as well as the Chaleur Bay region in the north and the Miramichi Bay region in the south. While the area to the east of Highway 8 north of Bathurst and Highway 11 south of Bathurst is fairly settled and accessible, the area west is rocky, wild and sports few roads, making it very difficult to access.

This area is generally French-speaking, though most inhabitants can coverse in English. Bathurst and Miramichi are the major cities, though Caraquet and Tracadie-Shiela are decent sized towns just outside the eastern boundary of the graticule.
