Plans
This was not really a hashing day. I had a hike planned in advance with the Albuquerque Hiking Meetup group (see here), so I figured the hashing would have to wait. I grabbed the coordinates on my phone on the drive out to hike, though, and plugged them in about halfway through the hike. Lo and behold, the hash was a whole 7 miles due south of our current location. I wasn't sure it if was accessible, but it was close enough to give it a shot. I filled my hiking companion in on my plan, and he was game to give it a go.
Expedition
We finished the planned hikes and headed south on the main road. The GPS was directing me off on a road marked private, which wasn't a good sign, but we kept heading south anyway. When we got close, we found a different road headed west to a stock pond, which we followed around to the south again and ended up parking a whole half mile from the hash. Sweet! We did have to duck under a barbed wire fence to get there, but there aren't too many places you *don't* have to do that around here. It was a pretty easy walk over to the actual spot. We got our pics and headed on our way.
