Expedition
For my 2nd Hashiversary expedition, I chose the hash in 47,5, the last one I was missing to complete the Minesweeper achievement, after a lucky location in 45,7 and a failed expedition in 47,5. I left work early and drove there from Yverdon. I don't particularly like long drives but the Winter conditions made it a bit more challenging, if not interesting. I already knew the Vallorbe - Besançon route from an earlier trip, but the landscapes are very different when covered in snow. The real challenge however, were the last 5 km or so before Fretigney, where the road was just a large strip of ice. It felt a bit like I was taking part in Ice Road Truckers...
When planning the expedition, I considered that I could have to walk the last km or so, and hence I was equipped with good shoes and gaiters. But although the road had not been cleared, the snow was not very deep and the car didn't mind taking me up to ~ 30 m from the hash. The exact point was then located, a snowman was built and pictures were taken.
On the way back I managed to avoid the ice covered segment with a small detour. The roundtrip from Yverdon took me a bit less than 6 h; that's less than 50km/h in average... From Yverdon the train took me safely back home.
