I left the office, drove up to Dalby via Staffanstorp and was back on my old commuter road 11. The area was not totally unfamiliar to me and I could get to the geohash location by just having looked at the satellite imagery. I stopped by the road side and walked a stone frozen horse path. One month ago it would have been a mud inferno, but with the temperatures well below -10° C the last week it was walking on a pavement. I turned on the phone just next to the geohash and took some photographs.

I uploaded one image with the geohashdroid app and the coordinates it overlayed pointed to a location 11.6 km away. First I thought I had a bad GPS fix but later in the evening when I had a mail conversation with Captain Spam about it, it turns out that the location was grabbed from the geo tag in the image which obviously was totally wrong and must be blamed on the camera software implementation for not honoring GPS accuracy when preparing EXIF.

Expedition

I was sitting in the office when it struck me that I had forgotten to check the coordinates for today. They turned out be outside Torna Hällestad which had been very convenient if not for the fact that my office location is no longer in Lund, but in Malmö. Well, weather was nice (a bit cold perhaps) and my geohashing activity had been a bit dull so why not?

The evening was spent with a bit of patching the geohashdroid with the possibility to select between current position or image location.
