Aw, no GPS unit will ever work indoors!  You shouldn't blame yours.  And since the mall doesn't appear to be oriented along N-S / E-W directions it would have been very hard to count paces or something.  Sounds like it was just a difficult and unpleasant hash... congratulations on making it, and on still enjoying the day.  -- [[User:OtherJack|OtherJack]] 23:02, 14 August 2012 (EDT)

:Well, it's good to hear that it's not just mine then. And I think it was roughly oriented, but only roughly so. And the rain probably wasn't helping GPS reception either. I probably need to start printing out the maps of the hashes, so even if the GPS borks again I have some idea of where I need to go. -[[User:Haberdasher|Haberdasher]] 14:13, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Welcome to geohashing, and nice job repeatedly commandeering your friends' vehicles to get to hashes! I actually grew up in Evanston and have passed within a few blocks of your Niles hashpoint many times... OtherJack 06:09, 20 March 2012 (EDT)

Thank you! I'm really starting to get into geohashing, the hashes fall on the most interesting places. -- Haberdasher 11:08, 20 March 2012 (CST)
Haha, not always... OtherJack 13:58, 20 March 2012 (EDT)

Visiting London West

Hi! I see you're in the 51,-0 graticule for a while. I'm in Cambridge, so if you are planning any hashes in the north-east corner of the graticule, do let me know and I'll to meet up with you there. Or is that completely the wrong end of the grat for you? — Benjw  {talk} 06:20, 26 August 2012 (EDT)

It'd be a bit out of my way, but I'll see what happens. I would like to visit Cambridge either way, I'll just have to hope for a lucky weekend hash around there. -Haberdasher 15:24, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

Hey Haberdasher, I might be able to get to Hornchurch tomorrow for the 51 0 hash, about what time are you aiming to get there? --Jand 14:54, 26 November 2012 (EST)

I was going to ask if you and your friend were planning to try and get tomorrow's globalhash in southern Missouri, but looks from your homepage like you're back in Chicago for the summer. Oh well... -- OtherJack (talk) 16:12, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

That is indeed the case, though at the moment I'm actually in Panama rather than Chicago. Doesn't look accessible at any rate. Shame I couldn't at least try, though. -Haberdasher (talk) 15:01, 25 May 2013 (EDT)
That's awesome you're in Panama though... I hope you get a hash there at some point! -- OtherJack (talk) 15:48, 25 May 2013 (EDT)
I hope so too, but the odds are against me... and if there's a globalhash in Panama or Costa Rica this summer, be sure to let me know! -Haberdasher (talk) 16:33, 26 May 2013 (EDT)
Just use the Small Hash Inquiry Tool, http://tjum.anthill.de/cgi-bin/geohash.cgi?lat=&lon=&nr=o&map=gs&size=240x240&t=&date=2013-01-14&unit=km ... you have to enter the date in question, and the globalhash is at the bottom. You can also change the lat/lon from the default German location if you want, though I never bothered... -- OtherJack (talk) 17:16, 26 May 2013 (EDT)

Christmas 2013

Hey, I'm back in Chicagoland from today through 2014-01-02 and looking for a hashpoint or two. Are you going to be around at all? I'm trying to see who is... nesbiteg got one recently but didn't reply to my similar post on his page... -- OtherJack (talk) 19:44, 18 December 2013 (EST)

I'm actually in town already, and will be in mid-January! I don't think this weekend looks doable, but I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the hashes and on the wiki. -Haberdasher (talk) 12:47, 20 December 2013 (EST)
OK cool! I agree this weekend doesn't look too good... and then Monday through Wednesday I'll be in Michigan visiting relatives. But hopefully I'll find a good hash afterward... -- OtherJack (talk) 17:37, 20 December 2013 (EST)
