The hashpoint is on the embankment of Pine Grove Road, where the roadbed was built up, which was the only slight difficulty: there wasn't a flat place to stand.  It wasn't hard to move around, either, though, and I got the requisite GPS photo without any trouble.  The spot is a pleasant one, behind the shed at a house with an interesting roofline that must have been designed to optimize solar panel output, and just west of a frozen stream.

Plans

I'm hoping to run out after classes today, and get there sometime between 4:00-5:00 p.m. Right now (11:30 a.m.), we're getting just enough snow to make things look nice, so I'm looking forward to getting out.

Expedition

This trip was a record-setter! Of all the hashes I've attempted, this one was the closest to my home -- about 3.16 miles, according to this calculator. I left home about 4:10 p.m., and was at the spot in ten minutes.

It wasn't tremendously cold or windy, but it wasn't warm enough to make it fun to hang around, either, so I took a few pictures and got back on the road: I was home by 4:45. It was fun to see a bit of the countryside around our town that I hadn't visited before.
