Location
In a field northwest of Fort Gratiot, MI
This was my first geohash, so I wanted something easy while still getting a bunch of achievements. This one happened to be in an easily-reachable area near my hometown, in a virgin graticule.
Participants
Brandy
Kim
Mike
Plans
The plan was to get there for an official xkcd meetup with some friends (even though we'd likely be the only ones there) in formal attire.
Expedition
We left from Flint too late for the meetup time, as we had some prior engagements beforehand. Other than that, everything went as planned. We got out to the field, took a couple pictures, then went to Port Huron for dinner.
All along the way, we got looks and questions about our dress. Our waitress at dinner thought we were going to prom; another (possibly drunk) couple wanted a picture with us. This led to a lot of explanations concerning geohashing, but it was actually pretty fun.
Tracklog
We took I-69 from Flint to nearby Wadhams, then took back roads out to the field. (no tracklog; I should get something to record that next time)
