The Magic City, heart of Yellowstone county. One active member (ME!) David Souther

Our Graticule includes Billings, Laurel, Bridger, Park City, Joliet, Pryor, Huntley, and Worden. It includes most of Yellowstone county, as well as parts of Stillwater, Bighorn, and Carbon counties. The Pryor Mountains dominate much of the southern 1/3 of the graticule The Pryors are best known for the herds of wild mustangs, but also provide ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and ATV/Motocross riding. Closer to home, the rims are the dominant feature. Fifty foot sandstone cliffs, the rims tower over Billings, with vestiges as far as Park City, as well as Sacrifice cliffs to the south. The rims provide excellent hiking and climbing.

Because this is so sparsely populated a graticule, I've released an alternative geohashing algorithm, targeted specifically for the rims. Most Saturdays I'll be there, as it's much closer to town. Anyway, it's at http://app.scaletherims.net/routes/ and is part of a larger initiative I'm working on to document and promote climbing on the rims.

This Graticule doesn't have much in the way of impassable boundaries. Difficulties will include getting onto private property and mountains- otherwise, the worst we have is Lake Elmo and the Yellowstone river. Any people from out of town a ways remember- this is Montana, and trespassing is liable to get you facing the wrong end of a gun. Better to ask.

Disclaimer: When any coordinates generated by the Geohashing algorithm fall within a dangerous area, are inaccessible, or would require illegal trespass, DO NOT attempt to reach them. Please research each potential location before attempting to access it. You are expected to use proper judgment in all cases and are solely responsible for your own actions. See more guidelines.
