Having been so frustated and let-down about my latest hash experience (the failed http://wiki.xkcd.com/geohashing/2015-01-13_48_16) I urged for another sense of achievement, especially after the loser achievement that the no-trespassing was. So today's hash came in quite handy ;-)
Picture this: friday night, B2C and micsnare were discussing the weekend hashpoints because one of them (today's) seemed rather easy to hash in the Vienna Graticule. Due to a few misunderstandings this took longer than usual ;-)
Anyway we came to the conclusion that this hash seemed not only feasible but should also be easy to grab (according to the satellite view)
Without defining any more details we signed off
Expedition
I was in the tube on the way to the hashpoint when B2c suddenly contacted me for details regarding today's hash. We decided to meet at Brandauers for a late lunch to discuss further details on how to approach the hash. I had already order a hot-chocolate and cake (calling it 'death-by-chocolate') when B2C turned up. He had his late lunch, and afterwards we set off. The restaurant was nearby the subway station "Spittelau" which was only 1 stop away from the hashpoint location. The hashpoint was approximately 15 minutes by foot far-out from the tube station where we left. B2C, the human-satnav, had it all under-control and quickly navigated us to the hashpoint. Spot on!
The hashpoint itself (as seen on the pictures below) was near a railroad crossing. At first it seemed a bit illegal entering, but we didn't care much and just wanted to grab that hash. This time we struggeled a bit with our GPS tools, finding the right coordinates, so that we totally forgot to take a Stupid Grin photo. We took other photos individually though to document the hash.
Having done so, we left early as it was already getting dark and B2C was still suffering from a nasty cold.
That's about it. Good to see a few hashpoints turning up lately within the Vienna area again ;-)
