Expedition
After the hash in Grönloh, I rode my bike back to Quakenbrück and got on the train to Wilhelmshaven.
Once in Wilhelmshaven, I tried to go in the general direction of the hash, but ended up lost near a navy base. Wilhelmshaven is a relatively young city, it was founded by (and named after) Kaiser Wilhelm I to have a port for the Prussian, and later German Navy. Apparently it still is a major seat of the navy today, judging by how many military license plates I saw.
After getting on the right way, I rode my bike north to the hash. After getting out of Wilhelmshaven, I came across the JadeWeserPort which prevented me from riding next to the North Sea for a part of the ride. After the port passed I was able to do so, and saw some sheep. I took a break at some point to look at the sea and sit at the beach for a while.
After continuing, I eventually reached Hooksiel. It's entrance is a drawbridge which had been risen at the time I arrived, since two ships wanted to pass. I was very hungry at this point, since I haven't had lunch yet, but I told myself to get to the coordinates first, and then get something to eat.
After passing the bridge and a short ride on the peninsula, I got the closest distance to the hash without leaving the bike path. Unfortunately, there were some bushes between me and the coordinates, but luckily, there was a nearby foot path which led to the glade the hash was located in. Finally, the coordinates were reached.
After this, I bought three Fischbrötchen for lunch. They were great.
