I like to regard this as my real origin geohash, because the hospital I was born in is located 500 m east of 10° east and this hash is much closer to it than 1999-04-03 53 10 (21.3 km to 44.6 km). When I discovered geohashing, I noticed it was just outside Elmshorn, one of the biggest cities in my vicinity, and planned to reach the coordinates someday.
I got the chance on 8 June 2019, when Leidenfrost and I went to the German Quidditch Championships in nearby Tornesch (very nerdy, I know). We took the A3 train to Elmshorn, then cycled about 4 km to the hashpoint. It was located just outside town, but 90 m into a field of waist-high barley, so Leidenfrost decided to stay behind while I found the spot, trying not to step on any barley. On the way back, Leidenfrost's tire went flat, and we agreed we would not make it to our desired train in time. So Leidenfrost walked back the station on foot, while I cycled 7 km to Tornesch. We had lots of fun at the tournament (Quidditch is very entertaining and spectator-friendly sport), though some of the time we seemed to be the only non-players at the site. We took the train home, Leidenfrost left his bike in Elmshorn so he could pick it up the following day when we went back to watch the second day of the championship.
