Location
Between two trails at the foot of the Columbia Gorge near Bonneville Dam.
Participants
- Michael5000: Expedition #223
Plans
This looks like it might be an rare chance to visit an accessible hashpoint in the little nook of Multnomah County that sticks over into the Goldendale graticule. I'm definitely going to take a swing at it!
Expedition
It was a very pleasant drive to a trailhead, from which it was a very pleasant bicycle ride to a point about 150 feet from the hashpoint, from which there was very little more one could do. This part of the Columbia Gorge notoriously burned in a forest fire a few years ago, and the lush, verdant recovery in this little portion is encouraging but almost impossible to walk across. I would have needed my machete and the will to use it. Long pants alone were not sufficient.
Achievements
- Tragically failed to complete the Regional Achievement for Multnomah County.
