Location

In the middle of (a totally tick-free!) quiet residential road in Kfar Daniel, Israel

Participants

RonK

Plans

Find geohash location as part of my commute to work. This time I'm even better prepared than three days ago, I've figured out an easier way to add locations by coordinates to my mapping app, and I've checked Google Street View.

Expedition

Gave my wife a ride to an early morning errand. After dropping her off I started out towards Kfar Daniel, but --- oh no! The car says I have a pressure problem in one of my tires. After making a stop to make sure it's not totally flat, I take a detour to a gas station to fill the tires up. It doesn't take too long, so I still have time. Great! Drove to Kfar Daniel and find the hashpoint at 07:49. It is in the middle of one of the lanes of a residential road. OpenStreetMap seems to have a labeling problem in Kfar Daniel, the road in which the hashpoint falls is named both "Brosh" (Cypress tree) and "HaBrosh" (The cypress tree). I ask residents walking their dogs and they say that the first name is a mistake, the whole road should be called "HaBrosh". Now I have to figure out how to fix that...

Achievements

Landgeohash.png
RonK earned the Land geohash achievement
by reaching the (31, 34) geohash on 2022-07-21.

Hmm, thought there would be an achievement for driving through the hashpoint (which I incidentally did while looking for nearby parking), but the only one is driving at maximum speed. Well, maybe next time!
