Plans
Immediately after school, we'd take all the kids who wanted to come, drive to Avi'ezer, and walk to the point. Should be relatively easy - the satellite photos show paths and stuff.
Expedition
We left over an hour later than intended because four of the five children threw tantrums to one extent or another (surprisingly, #5 was the one who didn't). Partially as a result of said tantrums, three of them stayed home.
Upon arriving, we discovered that the most obvious path from Avi'ezer to the point (at the western entrance to the town, heading north and then east) was actually the town's security patrol road - which is accessible to the public, but was on the *inside* of the barbed wire fence that protects the citizens from Palestinian infiltration. Since the point was on the outside of the fence, I assumed that any exit from the security road to the forest containing the point would be gated and locked, so I decided not to take us down that road at all. This assumption turned out to be correct, as we later saw the gate from the outside.
Instead we tried to take a path that hugged the outside of the security fence, which was far more difficult, consisting of a steep rocky hillside. We eventually reached the edge of the hillside, from which we could theoretically have climbed down onto the portion of the security road that was outside the gate, from which we could easily stroll to the hashpoint - but #5 would not have been able to climb down. I and #3 briefly considered continuing on our own, but we saw that we would not be able to climb back up the way we came, which we'd need to find an alternate return route and my wife and #5 would have to find their way back to the car by themselves. There was not enough time before sundown to be sure that this would be successful, so we sat down on a large rock and had sandwiches, then went home.
