This is a proposal made on 2015-11-15. Please leave comments and suggestions on Talk:Fibonacci achievement, indicating your thoughts on the proposal, including:
- Support - you think this proposal should be added with zero or minor changes
- Do not oppose - you think it's boring/meh/not for you, but it wouldn't harm to have it created
- Oppose - you have a specific reason as to why this ribbon should not exist (state this reasoning in your comment)
- Needs work - you think the achievement should be created after more significant changes have been made
See Proposed achievements for more information on this process.
You go on N expeditions or reach N coordinates where N is a Fibonacci number, celebrating the golden ratio and making a tribute to xkcd.
The Fibonacci sequence is a sequence in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones.
How the counting works...
- F0: 0 expeditions, you automatically reach this level before geohashing.
- F1: 1 expedition, claim this for your first expedition.
- F2: Also 1 expedition, you should claim the above instead.
- F3: 2 expeditions, claim this for your second expedition.
- F4: 3 expeditions.
- F5: 5 expeditions.
- F6: 8 expeditions.
- F7: 13 expeditions.
- ...
- F10: 55 expeditions.
- ...
- F15: 610 expeditions.
A possible integration of this concept to the Two to the N achievement is demonstrated in the talk page. Due to the similarities between this proposed achievement and the existing Two to the N achievement, adding this achievement as a feature of the Two to the N achievement seems most logical.
