I first considered going for the Subdivision achievement in August 2024 when it appeared that I would keep hashing for the foreseeable future. By mid-August I went to Flevoland for province number 8. In September and October I kept my eyes on the provinces I was missing. After [[2024-11-01 53 5|November 1st]] I only had a single province left. Drenthe.

Starting on November 8th, there was a non-stop streak of hashes in Drenthe. Some of them were obviously bad spots (water, farmland), others were just not doable because I was engaged otherwise. Finally, on November 15th, this hash came along. I had a day off, it was in a forest and I was able to loan a car. LET’S GO!

Starting from Den Bosch, it was about a 2.5 hours drive to get to a town just south of the hash called Diever. Here we stretched our legs and had a quick drink. We also visited one of the Hunebedden ([[Wikipedia:Dolmen|Dolmen]]) as neither of us had even seen one.

Then we were on our way to the hash. We drove through some grassland called Oude Willem (Old William), but we couldn’t figure out why it was called that. Originally, we thought we could park at a nearby ruin of a castle, but there wasn’t a good spot to park there. Additionally, some more scouting revealed that the path we were planning to take did not exist and was replaced by a Do Not Enter sign.

We were south of the hash at this point, and our map showed us that there might be another path east the hash. This was close to a forest campground, giving us a great spot to park. We walked into the forest and followed the path for about 30 minutes before the app showed us that the hash was about 100m off the path. So obviously we left the path and went into the actual forest, stepping over fallen branches and leaves. The hash itself was a pretty spot in the middle of the forest, with nothing really remarkable about it. We celebrated reaching the hash and getting the Subdivision achievement for a second. Sadly, we had to go back almost immediately because it was getting darker and we had to be back home in the evening.

Glad to have grabbed this one. The surrounding area was pretty and very quiet. The streak of non-stop hashes ended on the 17th, so we were just in time.

I first considered going for the Subdivision achievement in August 2024 when it appeared that I would keep hashing for the foreseeable future. By mid-August I went to Flevoland for province number 8. In September and October I kept my eyes on the provinces I was missing. After November 1st I only had a single province left.

We also visited one of the Hunebedden (Dolmen) as neither of us had even seen one.
