Welcome to geohashing! Quite a few people don't have GPS units, and still go geohashing. You would be surprised how close you can get to most points without it, so don't let that discourage you from going on an expedition. The primary goal is to have fun and meet people, which you can do just as easily without a GPS. Have fun geohashing! --aperfectring 12:09, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you! After I looked around the wiki more and read other geohashers' accounts of their own expeditions I saw that there were quite a number of people who didn't use GPS units either. That was when I realised that not having a GPS unit couldn't hinder me anymore from following the "call of geohashing". I'll just have to wait for a feasible hash to come along, though... --Cyazlars 17:07, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi! I'm also living in Singapore (see my user page here). Do you also find it annoying that the coordinates mostly fall in either Malaysia or in the sea? Thetuxone 09:26, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hey there! Sorry about the reply lag, I hadn't logged in for quite some time. Yeah, I do find it annoying, but it can't be helped - I'll just wait for other coordinates to come along that are more convenient for me. But in future I do plan to learn kayaking and familiarise myself with Malaysia (at least Johor Bahru and its surrounding towns), hopefully that will increase the number of geohashes accessible to me. --Cyazlars 16:20, 06 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I just joined the wiki today and search for Singapore geohashing and am surprised that there are a number of geohashers here! Do you want to go geohash together sometimes? --CatoftheCanals 20:43, 1 March 2012 (EST)
