I usually ask my girlfriend if she would like to go along on my Geohash expeditions but today is her daughters 6th birthday. She originally planned on the birthday party being at 2pm and finishing by 3pm. But my girlfriend wanted to include her sister and her two kids in with the birthday party. So it was moved to 3pm. That meant I was not going to make the official time.

But with the Saturday meetup 30 miles away from my house I thought that I should attempt it. I left my house about 7:15pm for the Geohash. I arrived a few minutes before 8pm. I knocked on the door of the house closest to the hash spot and a man about my age came to the door talking on a cell phone.

I tried to explain Geohashing in as few words a possible as he continued to talk on the phone. I then said that I wanted to go to that spot and was it ok? He said "That's fine" and closed the door. "Permission Granted".

As I made my way into the thick brush, I knew the last 200 feet were going to be hard to get to. There was still plenty of daylight but the sun was starting to set. I figured I had 30 minutes left. It took about 10 minutes to make the last 200 feet.

I took a few pictures and then made my way out.
