Topeka is on the south edge of the 39/-95 graticule, and Lawrence is on the north edge of the 38/-95 graticule.

This Saturday

2008-05-31 -- The coordinates for Saturday, May 31st are available. It appears that at the time of this post, the Map lookup page was using Thursday's Dow opening to calculate Saturday's coordinates, so the coordinates it gives is incorrect. The correct coordinates are: 0.037487, 0.281266 (as shown on the Geohashing main page).

38/-95 graticule- The coordinates are 38.037487°, -95.281266° Google Maps. This is at the far south edge of the graticule, south of Garnett and northeast of Iola.

39/-95 graticule- The coordinates are 39.037487°, -95.281266° Google Maps. This point falls in Lawrence north of the Kansas river. While the point is on private property, it is nearby Riverfront Park, which would provide a meeting place.

Note from TheTagger: I think there should be an Achievement for this... I've actually met the lady who lives on the property the 39/-95 geohash is on. I work for the County surveyor, and we were doing some work in that area, and she came out with her dogs to see what we were doing. She was a nice person, but a bit of a loon :) One of her dogs was cool too: it was half wolf! Well, at least that's what she said, and it did look like a wolf, so I buy it. Anyways, long story short, with a loony-type land owner and wolf creatures lurking about, getting to the exact coordinates will prove impossible, but I will be at the intersection of N 2050 Rd and E 1250 Rd (half mile east of coordinates) around 4 o'clock Saturday so I can say I got as close as possible. If anyone else decides to meet, I'll see you there! (and if you want, leave a note here so I know who to expect!)
