Expedition
After a long lapse from checking the daily hash points, which tend to be thousands of feet into fields of crops, and during a particularly boring meeting, Mark decided to revisit geohashing. Much to his surprise, the day's hash was not far from home and in the ditch right of the road. Opportunity had finally struck, so he enlisted the help of Sasquatch, who owns a GPS, and they headed out for a lunch break.
Access was trivial. An easy drive down a major highway, a short jaunt through Racine, off onto a gravel road for a quarter mile, and parked in a convenient field-access over the ditch. A couple hundred feet of walking along the end of the bean field and the GPS pointed into the field. After stepping over two or three rows of the couple-inch-high beans and they were there. An unsecured WiFi access point was detected, but the signal was too weak to post from the hash.
The geohash made for an excellent lunch break on a beautiful sunny summer day.
