Plans

Original plan was to go get a very accessible hash point just off highway 95 and try some new GPS tracking apps.

Expedition

Set off to explore the region North-West of Las Vegas on my day off. I setup the GPS apps on my phone and was on my way. I arrived and observed a sign noting that I needed a permit to enter the area. Thankfully they had a phone number posted so I gave them a call. Turned out that the chairperson who could grant me access was out of the office but was told to call the local police station and inquire there. With the second number in hand I called and after explaining myself again... "Hello I'm from the internet"... was placed on hold while he went to call someone else. After a short wait I was told that they couldn't grant me permission to access the area. I thanked the officer and proceeded to the locked gate and snapped a few photos in the general direction the hash was in and went on my way.

On my way back into town I took a short detour and drove through the Spring Mountain Natural Resource Area and scoped out Mt. Charleston for future hiking endeavors.
