Year | Location | Rail Transport | By Car | Votes | |
1 | 2015 | A field perimeter close to the side of a road, north of Feltwell 2.3 km from the exact centre of the graticule. There is a large gated concrete area very close. | 6 km from Lakenheath railway station. | Car parking could be 1 km away in Feltwell. | Sourcerer |
2 | 2011 | In woodland, just off the Icknield Way in Thetford Forest with plenty of space at the hashpoint.. | 12 to 14 km from the railway stations in Thetford or Bury St. Edmunds. | There is picnic car parking 3 km away. | Tongs/B Sourcerer |
3 | 2009 | On a fire break path in Thetford Forest. There is plenty of space at the hashpoint. | 7 km from Brandon railway station. | Car parking is 2 km away with space for a few cars. | Tongs/B |
- Thanks for this - it's very useful. I think hashpoints which are in big forests are much more fun and practical. When driving, we often stop off at forested areas and just go for walks, climb trees, play games, that kind of thing. It seems both 2011's and 2009's points are on public land where you'd expect to find walkers. 2009's is very near Center Parcs, with its huge swimming pool dome thing, but I think we wouldn't be able to get access to the site for just a day (even if we'd want to). I think also that running around in the woods is far more in the spirit of geohashing. I added a column so that we could vote on which alternative people would prefer. - I added this expedition to Geo Hashing:Current events just in case we get interest from far far away. --Sourcerer (talk) 16:32, 22 December 2015 (EST)

- 🇳🇱 Residents of the Netherlands might like to consider Rail and Sail tickets, from any NS station in the Netherlands to any rail station in Anglia, including Cambridge, and the ferry to get you there, for £49 single. (Anyone from 52,0 or 52,1 fancy making the opposite journey?) :-P Tongs (talk) 16:44, 21 December 2015 (EST)
- 🇫🇷🇧🇪 Eurostar high-speed rail services terminate in London St Pancras station, just over the road from London Kings Cross station. A train from Kings Cross at the weekend costs around £10 and reaches Cambridge, where some hashers will be setting out from, in around 50 minutes.
Yea! I've fixed the map. It no longer shows the Sahara in Algeria! --Sourcerer (talk) 16:11, 21 December 2015 (EST)
