Plans

I woke up to check the geohash and lo and behold, its only 3.5 miles as the crow flies. Fortunately for me, today is the first day of summer break so i have plenty of free time. Weather for today has a high of 36C so I will have to go quickly.

Expedition

After eating breakfast and pumping up my bike tires, I left around 9:30 am. Construction on the quickest path caused me to take a detour which luckily only added about 100m of travel distance. Otherwise, the ride there was quite uneventful except for making me realize how long it has been since I last went on long bike rides.

As I approached the house and confirmed a normal quantity of times that I was indeed at the correct location, I rang the door bell, but much as I had expected to, there was no response. I waited an additional two minutes just to confirm but I had decided to ride back. But at that same time, a woman in her car opened the garage door and pulled in. (Although there was about 30 seconds as she pulled in where upon seeing a thin blue line and a "come and take it" flag I had assumed that this would be where I died given Arizona's "Stand your ground" laws) But as she got out of the car and saw me, she asked if I needed anything.

(Although I unfortunately have forgotten her name), I explained what geohashing was, showed her the map, and she kindly obliged to let me in her backyard. I took a photo, explained the whole process and thanked her for letting me in (not before seeing her cat and dog). The ride back was uneventful except for a fire truck honking it's horn right next to my ear and scaring me, almost making me fall from my bike. By the time I had returned home, it was 10:50 so a total trip time of 80 mins.
