Expedition

After 3 months of checking hashpoints, I finally had an accessible hashpoint. The last 3 coordinates that were on Singapore land were all on military installations, so today’s lucky coordinates meant that I could finally set off on my first geohashing expedition.

I took a public bus (bus 55) to the bus stop outside Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2. It was a short walk through the area, which had a bunch of car and/or air-con repair shops. I soon reached block 5034, but I was not completely sure which repair shop the hashpoint was in, so I used the trusty Geohash Droid app and walked until I was close enough to the coordinates. I took some photos and continued walking to another bus stop, then took bus 268 to Ang Mo Kio MRT station.

There are 4 squishy vendors within 1km of the hashpoint, and there was one along my bus route away from the hashpoint. But I didn’t feel like drinking (eating?) a squishy, so I didn’t do a GeoSquishy. In conclusion, my first expedition was quite fun.
