Retro meetup - is it an expedition?

For Most active graticules I am tracking Expeditions and Successful Expeditions. A Retro meetup *is* an expedition, but if I count it in the month it happened, it could skew the results. When I run the numbers for January 2009, I am going to add a column to the table for "retro meetups" and count them separately. Should they count towards the overall total for a graticule, though? Opinions, as always, greatly appreciated! --Thomcat 15:29, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Retro geohashes are ugly ugly animals, not that I don't think they should be done. I think

  • every visit to one spot should be on the same page, regardless of the date, so a retro geohash page should be named according to the date it commemorates.
  • retro geohashes should not be categorized as Meetup on YYYY-MM-DD for the day they commemorate because they weren't.
  • retro geohashes could be categorized as Meetup on YYYY-MM-DD for the day they occurred if that wouldn't cause confusion with the assigned point for that day.
  • retro geohashes could all be categorized as Retro geohash and left at that, which is what the template will do if you specify retro=1, but it would be nice to have some separation on them.
  • retro geohashes are expeditions, but counting them in a graticule's score kind of goes against "the Internet vesus the DJIA"

I'm leaning towards using the date category for the day they occurred, or none. -Robyn 15:46, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
