Plans

Planning? Not much. We discussed around lunch time about maybe going hashing, but made no solid plans. The hashpoint seemed to be on private land, and it would be dark by the time we got out, so we weren't enthused.

Jim printed out Google Info (and left it on the printer) and programmed his GPS. Of course, when I got to the office, I found that one map hadn't printed correctly, so I was probably better off not looking for it.

That said, APR and Jim actually did a bit of research, having determined the taxlot number, zoning, and fire protection district for the land in question.

Expedition

The trip there was pretty easy. We hopped onto Highway OR-26 and went a couple of exits west. Luckily APR's GPS Nav unit was happy to give us directions since someone forgot the map and directions at their office. We passed through downtown Banks and took a couple of side roads, ending up on a road that might have been paved or gravel, but we weren't sure which.

As expected, it was really on private land and it was too late and dark to knock on the door and say "We'd like to go wander in your forest".

So we turned around and headed home. And it probably was a good thing, as it really started to pour on our way home. We might have been eligible for a "drowned rat" award since neither of us was prepared for much forest tromping or rain.

Photos

Stuck in APR's phone, I think.

Camera, actually. If I had thought to use the phone they would already be here... I'll upload them sometime this weekend.
