The Expedition
Had to set off in the evening as I work late on Mondays, we headed off from my flat in Elland about 19:30 and arrived at the Library in Holmfirth about 20:00. Turns out the park is on a big ass hill, and it's dark. We set off the short distance up the very steep hill and quickly reach the co-ordinates. This is then followed by 20 minutes of trying to work out how we use the android app on Jason's phone to prove to everyone else we did it, except we can't work out what and how we upload to the wiki. After much faffing, the GPS on the phone goes retarded and decides we have gone from 1m to 10m away from the location when we haven't moved. This prompts much side stepping in the dark, on a hill, into trees, to try and get back within a few metres, and it's raining. Eventually we give up and screenshot the phone as close as we can get it, which annoyingly is 8.292m away, even though we promise we actually got within 1m!
Now wet and stroppy we head off back down the hill, sometimes at an alarming rate, sometimes being dragged by someone else, because someone else thinks it's funny to make me almost fall, even though it is not funny at all. We have a quick drive to McDonalds on Leeds Road (via the red light district) and head home, satisfied that we have finally completed out first expedition.
