Expedition
Pastori and The Wife got tired of the darkening Finland and diminishing sunlight and decided to go and check if they could find the Sun from the south.
First they traveled to Turku, from where they took a car ferry over the sea to Stockholm, Sweden. Then they continued to Denmark, where the first suitable hashpoint emerged, with only a 8 km detour from the motorway. We could get by car to 9 meters from the hashpoint. This required driving some small field roads, and of course a Danish farmer with a giant double-wheeled tractor was using the same road! Fortunately he swayed to the field to give us way, we could not have done that with our trusty Yaris. He must have wondered what on earth we were doing there..
At the point, we exited the car and walked around in the field for a while to reach the hashpoint. Beautiful Danish countryside in bright sunlight and 16 degrees centigrade. Only in our place of stay for the night did we notice, that we hadn't taken any screenshot of the coordinates. Apparently the hashing routines of Pastori had rusted a bit..
The weather forecast for Denmark promised some autumnlike weather, too, so we had to continue further south and towards the possible warmth and possible hashpoints.
Our story continues here.
