Expedition

Danatar

After celebrating the new year at a friend's cottage in the Bayerischer Wald, I took a detour on my way home to get to this hashpoint. I didn't know what to expect, since I got the coordinates from my phone and my 1:500000 map printout only told me that there was a road leading from the Autobahn to within 1 km of it. Driving along that road I had a nice view of the frost- (or rime-?) covered landscape. When I got nearer my GPS map showed a track that would lead me nearer and I drove to where it began. At least I tried, because I couldn't find it by driving by two times. So I took the next possible track, parked the car and got out. I followed this track, not encountering anybody. It was very nice, with frost-/rime-covered trees and grass and fresh air. After a while I reached a road. Oh, so I could have driven almost up to the hashpoint... Not much later I reached the Edenhof hamlet, then the hashpoint. The spot itself was a few steps inside a field and I could see small plants growing, each just a blade of maybe 3 cm. Since they were in orderly rows with empty ground in between, I could get to the spot without trampling anything. After the usual pictures I walked back to the car and continued my journey home.
