Expedition

I found I had time in the afternoon to get to the hash in Allegany so I got my directions, piled the dogs in the car and we were on our way a little after 15:00. Getting to Pennsylvania on Rt 219 was fine, but the first exit I took was too early for the PA RT 346 so I found my way back on track and entered Bradford properly. Unfortunately, the signage for Rt 346 was not marked for some of the turns so I got to explore the town a bit before I found the School and Hospital that I was supposed to drive by on the way to the Park.

Once I got close to the park, I turned on my GPS and found the Closed Road to get to the hash and a nice large parking area. The dogs were anxious to run and enjoyed the wide path (used as a snowmobile trail in the winter time) as we made our way to the hash. Getting there was not difficult, but the satellite connections must have been a bit weak as I had to do a significant GPS dance before getting all 0's. Getting my pictures, I then headed south for another quarter of a mile to get a geocache located just on the other side of the NY/PA border. While it was within a KM, the woods blocked a direct view to make it an Honorary Mention for the Hash Collision.

Finding the cache, we headed back to the trail we were on and continued to hike in the woods for another hour or so. Turning around, we headed back to the car, but I didn't realize I had met another trail getting to the hash. Apparently, I took the wrong trail and I ended up getting back to the road right at the entrance booth for the park. Walking on the road back to the car, I decided we were going to drive through the park on the way home. As a bonus, driving by the Quaker Area store, I saw they were still open so I stopped for a celebratory ice cream.
