Expedition

My 99th geohash (attempt)! That means this is my 100th expedition (and, by one definition, my 100th hash) if you count Globalhashes, but not Retrohashes. But I have decided to celebrate my next expedition as the milestone.

This was the third expedition just below 2 hours in four days, quite unusual. I took the train to Bad Bramstedt in the late afternoon and then cycled 3.9 km to the hash (+ 800 m because I managed to take a wrong turn). At first, I felt relieved because it was not fenced off like the entire area east of it, but then I noticed that it was located on a densely grown waist-high barley field. I walked 90 m along the edge of the field, then had to make my way through 36 m of barley. I often found small blank spots of ground I could step on, and tried to minimise the number of stems I bent, which took much time. I arrived at the hashpoint, took photos and then retraced my steps to some tractor tracks not far from the hash which I followed to the edge of the field. I had used up most of my spare time, so I cycled back to the station and did not have time to eat the apple I brought before my train back home arrived.
