After not being able to reach 2023-10-02 52 8 in Gohfeld in the morning, I wanted to give it another try in a different graticule to extend my consecutive geohashing streak. The problem is that 52,8 already was the most promising graticule near me.

But so far, I had only looked within the German borders: Can the Netherlands help me to extend my streak?

Expedition

In the afternoon, I took the train to Hengelo and cycled the rest of the distance.

The coordinates were on the side of a road with a farm surrounding it on both sides. I quickly got the farm dog's attention, who was alerting everyone within hearing distance that he is seeing someone he has not seen before. I greeted the farmer and his daughter and explained that I was playing a game where you go to random coordinates, and that today's coordinates were right here. They asked if many more people would show up later, and I answered that that would probably not happen.

They were fine with me taking my photos, and soon thereafter, I was on my bike cycling back to Hengelo, from where I took the train back home to Osnabrück.
