Plans
Bus to Old Dalkeith Road, then attempt access either through the Drum Estate main gate, along the Dardenhall Railway path, or through the equestrian therapy center. Not clear any of them will work. ETA at bus stop just after 2 pm.
Expedition
Easier than expected. The hashpoint was in a farm field on the private Drum Estate south of Edinburgh. The estate's website [[1]] says "We welcome respectful and responsible members of the public", so I was mildly optimistic that I'd be able to get access, but the walls and gates and fences that were obvious from the satellite view didn't inspire confidence.
In the end, no problem. Access plan #1 succeeded. The field had already been harvested and was only mildly muddy despite the recent visit from Storm Darragh.

The vehicle gate at the Old Dalkeith Road entrance was closed, but the green pedestrian door was unlocked...
and led onto this pleasant lane.
The lane went past this easily-opened gate
beyond which it was maybe 20 m to the hashpoint
where the happy geohasher
was able to look back west to the gate.
