Plans

Doing my first geohash on my new e-bike

Expedition

For some, friday 13th means a day dominated by bad luck or things turning wrong - for me, this was the best friday 13th in my life - so far... For about three weeks I bought myself a new bike, my first e-bike in fact, after getting excited about those bikes during our summer holiday in holland, where we rented some e-bikes and I convinced myself of how cool these bikes actually are... I do have a good MBT and I always said "I don't need an e-bike, those are for pussies, I can do everything by myself and don't need any help" - but the first experience I had on an e-bike totally got me flashed and I thought by myself "wtf, why not?"...

So, today was the day and in the morning I took the bus to Friedberg, the city where I had ordered my e-bike, and did a little walk to the bicycle company. After the paperwork was done, this guy explained me the basics of this bike and after that, I rode back home first. The only bad thing today was the fact, that I planned to buy some warm gloves in the shop (it's pretty cold in germany at the moment) but they didn't sell anything appropriate, so I started my tour without gloves... One our and 20 km later I got back home and it felt, as if my finger had died - they were red and swollen and there was this strange feeling, as if someone puts needles into the flesh...

After warming up a little, I got on the bike again - this time I took gloves of course - and made my way through the forest to todays geohash. It was so easy to get there, on my old bike I would have been sweating and swearing, but now I was totally relaxed and got as near as 60 meters to the hash on my bike. The last few meters, I had to gp through the forest and after a short hash-dance I reached the exact coordinates without any problems. Took some pics, recorded proof and rode back home...

This was a nice one!
