The expedition (6)

This hash was in the Elbewiesen, or Elbe meadows, named after the river Elbe which crosses Hamburg. They were meadows, alright, somewhat lengthy in shape, but not long enough for a walk. Relet happened to park right next to the correct meadow, and soon was crossing the grass. After the first few steps, his shoes were dripping wet from the morning thaw. His socks were dripping wet from his shoes being wet. Is there a Drowned Rat Honorary Mention? He shrugged, and went on. He reached the hash, and for a moment believed that someone had been here. There were tracks through the grass which ended right at the hash point. Most probably it was some animal, and as animals aren't good at using wikis, we will never know.

He took the photos, returned to the car, an took off his shoes. Fortunately, he had thought of bringing his hiking boots (had he been faster, he might have reached the tenth hash in the national parks south of Szczecin, Poland, which would have made for a lengthier trek). Unfortunately, he did not bring spare socks. Hence, he put the socks on the car ventilation (they were wet, not smelly, mind you) and drove on bare-footed to the next hash.
