Expedition

The usual one. After work, I took my bike and cycled to the location. I had to cross the city from north to south. The weather was still great, and there were a lot of cyclists, either commuting or training. After I left Wrocław, I took a bit more non-tarmac route via gravel, dirt and cobblestone tracks.

When I reached Oława, the sun had already set, and the nearly full moon was very noticeable in the sky. I found the geohash easily. It was easily accessible, being located on the pavement. I made a quick photoshoot and a nutrition break, and I was ready to return to Wrocław. As I rode along the flood embankments in the forest, I saw at least two deers. It was completely dark, and I could hear noises from the forest nearly all the time. Was I scared? Sure I was!

In the forest between Kotowice and Siechnice, I hit a small puddle. Oh, how disappointed I was in myself. A freshly cleaned bike already got dirty. While taking it very emotionally, I hit another puddle. This one was ankle-deep, muddy, with green water. I was more than happy to find out the bike took it as a champ, as it had still to serve me for over 20 km.

All in all, it's been a great expedition!
