Celebrations ensued. I wanted to play "pin the tail on the donkey" but rabbitfox insisted that her tail was not to be toyed with, and that she wasn't a donkey. I blew it out and made a wish for the next hash of the day ('''which came true!''').

Plans

I planned to do my origin geohash. That was the plan.

Expedition

After just failing the main 51,-0 hash, I was determined to complete my Origin Geohash with no hiccups. All maps indicated it was partway across a river, but I figured I could hang across or even wade if necessary.

As it turned out, it was trivial. I bought a custard cake and candles in nearby Wonersh to celebrate, then headed down to the end of Eastwood Road and parked. A public footpath continued the trail along the "river", which turned out to be a long-dried-out riverbed. Hopping through some nettles to the alarm of a nearby prude, I descended into the riverbed and found my hashpoint, to within about 2 metres (under cover of trees).

Celebrations ensued. I wanted to play "pin the tail on the donkey" but rabbitfox insisted that her tail was not to be toyed with, and that she wasn't a donkey. Instead we brought out the cake and lit the candle - it's hard blow out 0 candles, so we settled for 1 candle instead. I blew it out and made a wish for the next hash of the day (which came true!).

I was pretty excited to finally make it to my origin, but all in all, it wasn't a very difficult hash to reach!

Back on Station Road, I found the remains of the Bramley and Wonersh station on the former Guildford to Horsham train line and logged the geocache GC1F9QR before continuing to the next hash of the day.

This geohash was part of davidc's European tour in Autumn 2009:
