Plans

The plan is to do a Welcome Back to the Future double hash: Visit both a 1985-10-26 retrohash and a 2015-10-21 geohash on 2015-10-21. I'll do it in 52,9. The attempted route is:

  • Hannover
    • Train ride
  • Bennemühlen
    • Bike ride
  • 2015-10-21 52 9 (Sprockhof)
    • Bike ride
  • Lindwedel
    • Train ride
  • Walsrode
    • Bike ride
  • 1985-10-26 52 9 (near Walsrode)
    • Bike ride
  • Walsrode
    • Train ride
  • Hannover

Expedition

Coming from 2015-10-21 52 9, I took the train to Walsrode. The train tracks were quite close to the retrohash, so I could see the site of the coordinates from the train. However, after arriving in Walsrode, I had to ride the whole way back.

Walsrode apparently chose to advertise itself using a toucan as a logo, which probably comes from the fact that Walsrode is famous for it's Vogelpark (bird park, or bird zoo), which also is the only thing I knew about Walsrode. Not only did I find a toucan on signs, but there also was a roundabout that was decorated with several toucans.

It was easy to get to the coordinates, they were just next to the bike path (which is next to the road) a couple of meters into the forest. After taking proof, I rode back to Walsrode and from there, to home.
