Atlanta

About

Near the Fernbank Science Center in Druid Hills. It is in a Condo Complex and down about a 30 foot drop.

Expedition

NWoodruff

I drove into the very horrible Downtown Atlanta traffic to make it to Freedom Parkway that goes East to Druid Hills. The 6 miles from downtown Atlanta to Druid Hills I don't think I got faster than 10 miles per hour. It is horrible traffic.

I did find the Condo Complex and drove to the back of it. I got out of my truck and immediately notice the 30 foot drop almost straight down. I walked up and down the back ally looking for the best way to make it down. I tried to take a picture of the steep drop off but all I got was black pictures.

Surprisingly I didn't fall down and go boom on my rear end. I picked a spot to make my way down about 50 feet behind where I parked. From where I parked my truck the Geohash spot was 80 feet.

When I finally got down the 30 feet I noticed that there was a small stream and was hoping that I didn't have to cross it to find the Geohash spot. I was in luck as I walked nearly parallel to the stream the entire 120 or so feet to go.

I found the hash spot with 1.25 feet to go with only a foot or less to go from the small stream bank. Close enough. I took a few pictures and then decided not to temp fate and walk back in the very same foot steps that I made it to the hash spot. The ground was wet enough that I could see the foot steps that I made.

I climbed the 30 feet back to where I entered the woods. I was much easier going down that it was going up. I took another picture of my eTrex from my truck. I though about leaving a chalk XKCD but it had rained earlier this morning and the pavement was still damp.

I then made my way back to Norcross.
