Expedition

NWoodruff

I braved the snow and ice, Yes, I said snow and ice. We rarely get snow here and this time although it wasn't much, it sure left a lot of ice around on the roads.

I went into work today and only about 1/4 of the office made it in today. I took this opportunity to do a late afternoon Geohash. I did come upon some real iced up roads and had to slow to about a walking speed and so did the other 100 or so cars around me.

I found the geohash house where the geohash spot was. I didn't drive up the driveway because it was covered in snow. As I was walking up the driveway the older gentleman that lived in the house met me in the car port. As I walked up to him I was already 15 feet to go and well inside of the required 10 meters.

I spoke to him briefly and showed him the Google map that I had printed out. I gave him the short explanation of geohashing which seemed sufficient for him. I asked if I could walk around to the side of the house and take a picture of my GPS device.

He was more than happy to let me and stood there as I took the pictures. I thanked him and he told me that I was more than welcome.

I slid down the driveway some and took a picture of my truck. I then very slowly drove away and made my way back to Norcross.
